commentary on manhood

i have officially achieved manhood.. i own a 50″ hd1080 tv! (its one of those big rear-projection ones that just stands on the floor with hidden rollers underneath.) and surround sound! granted, i dont have an hd cable feed or blu-ray player (..yet). if i did, it would be amazing!! but its still sweeeet. we watched part of ‘the good, the bad, and the ugly’. (which in the original italian means ‘the good, the ugly, the bad’. spaghetti westerns rock. look it up.) but it was kinda slow for the first big-screen movie. so then we watched T2. also a great movie, but for waaaay different reasons. who wouldnt want to see their governor (the governator) on a harley with a shotgun? then i watched and helped my roommate play a super tough part of ‘god of war’. amazing game. seriously. we were up til like 5 on accident and werent even a little bit tired. anyway, the entertainment experience was great. in fact, im afraid those little tvs are going to feel pretty lame now. so, thanks to that santa claritian who bought a really expensive tv and sent it back to goodwill when the next big thing came out. you have made my apartment official.

its funny how manhood has been characterized by things like horsepower, decibels, resolution, etc etc.  ever watched home improvement?  awesome show.  but it exploits the idea of the dumb american dad obsessed with those things.  just an interesting thought.  and its surprisingly common in movies and tv.

well, have a good night. im going to get fish tacos for a dollar tonight.  yay!
